If you found this page, I bet you have consumed some of my content somewhere. But just in case you haven’t, I’m Antsa. I’m a PhD student and a Graduate Teacher of Record at the School of Mathematical and Statistical Sciences at Clemson University. I’m a poet, fiction writer and educator. My content aims to help students achieve academic success. But I also write about my learning and teaching journey.
My work spreads across different platforms, and I will tell you where and why.
I started on Facebook. That’s because I’m from Madagascar, and most people there think of Facebook as the “Internet”. I used to post all my videos there and found out that not all content belongs there.
Life, study updates and quick tips work there because they are quick to consume. Nobody is coming to Facebook to watch my 1hour video about math. Live videos also work on Facebook because of the discussion that can happen. But the topic of a Facebook Live video needs to be broad.
Then I opened a second Facebook page for my poetry reading and any literature activities. I learned that not everybody who follows me does so for the same reason. To give a better experience for my followers, I keep each page separate unless I write or post a photo/video on a topic that can fit both. In that case, I tag my other page.
But back in 2011, I opened an account with vetso.serasera.org and posted a few poems and audio there. This website is a database of Malagasy poets, so it's great for discovering poets and getting discovered. I still post poems there from time to time.
But we know Facebook isn't the internet! You need to open an account to watch a lot of Facebook videos. So, I created YouTube channel for my pen name, Tsy rendrika Spica.
And you know what else works on YouTube? Niche topics like math or academic journeys. People search these kinds of topics on YouTube. Because of that, I have my Math YouTube channel and my Academic Success channel. You know, not all people who want academic advice are learning math.
I also love writing, so I tried and liked Medium. I even created a publication for Malagasy writers! On Medium, I write blog posts about studying, math, and writing. Again, Medium is good for discovery, and I want people who find me there to see posts that serve them. I’m targeting a wide audience that is interested in learning and literature and loves long-form content.
After going to many writing conferences, I subscribed to a bunch of Substack newsletters and liked them. So, I tried Substack. Posts that I write on Substack go directly into the subscriber's inbox. I now have a Substack called The Student Success Journey, and a poetry Substack where I post new poem updates. On the Academic Success Substack, I share actionable academic tips and other advice to make your academic journey smooth. To avoid clogging your inbox, I send the posts only monthly. I link the other relevant content from other platforms so you can still check them out. I also make sure not to have duplicates.
I also have an Instagram account where I share pictures, reels and quotes. Yes, I also have a X and a thread accounts, but I created them so that I can read what people are talking about.
So what is this blog Antsa?
This is the deep. Everything that I don't get to do in the other platform: posts so long that they may be a brochure or a book, shopping lists, math problems, software and tech recommendations,... we'll see how it goes.
Thank you for joining me on this adventure! Please leave a comment if you read this far.
PS: My main website is antsaeducontent.com/ and my creative writing website is https://spica.malagasywriters.com/. I'll put dedicated book webpages there, and you'll also receive updates here.
